International Beads Biennale 2026 Hiroshima

Meet Bead Art from Around the World.

The International Beads Biennale 2026 has been announced.

Starman is proud to be an official sponsor of the International Beads Biennale for 2026. Since 2013, this international competition aims to bring recognition to bead artists from around the globe. Beads and beaded art have been a part of human civilization since ancient times and the International Beads Biennale is a celebration of their impact and beauty.

The theme for 2026 is "Beauty, Love and Peace" with two categories of submission: Wearable Art and Artwork. Designs must be made of at least 30% glass beads. Winning pieces will be exhibited in Tokyo, Japan, in July 2026 and in Hiroshima in September 2026, with the award ceremony taking place in Hiroshima (travel expenses not included). In addition to international recognition, the Grand Prize winner will also receive 300,000 JPY (~$2,048 USD). An additional winner will be chosen for special recognition by Starman and receive the Starman Award title.
